Sideshift's earlier videos were built around job-market pain.
They were using job market despair hooks like:
- @emir.eneer “denied from a cashier’s job. (I have a master’s degree.)” -> 16.2M views
- @thatonepeng: “DENIED from WALMART (bachelors & masters degree btw)” -> 520K views
Now their latest hit featyres a hook we've already seen work across money content:
"trying to save $10k by june. gimme your CRAZIEST side hustles!! I'll go first. mine is sideshift."
It reached 1.6M views and another 834k views two days ago.
This is word for word the hook that worked really well in finance-app category:
Bloom hit 4.2M views with:
"i wanna have 15k saved by summer give me ur most unhinged ways you've saved money"
Clove used it as well: 309.5K views
“trying to have 15k saved up by june. give me ur CRAZIEST side hustles” ·
What makes it more interesting in this case is that she copied the hook but added the CTA directly into the text:
"I'll go first. mine is sideshift."
This is a good example of how goal-based hooks can travel across categories. When a trend is built around a goal, apps from other categories can use it by becoming the creator's "I'll go first" answer.
