Zest already had a strong organic playbook: founder positioning, cooking quizzes, stealth food pages, and discovery-style UGC.
Now it looks like the app is testing another layer.
One of its creator accounts, @cookinwithsidney, pulled already more than 4M views with a post framed around boyfriend conflict instead of cooking utility.
"POV: your boyfriend who lowkey hates you"
The video starts with a recording of a chat conversation with long messages so you know there is conflict.
The caption pushes the storyline further: "he literally ruined our anniversary dinner on purpose so he wouldn't have to cook again."
It shows how far this format has spread: even a cooking app can win attention faster by wrapping itself inside boyfriend drama than by talking about cooking directly.
