A new alarm app hit 10K downloads in 20 days by finding one waking-up skit that worked, then running it into the ground across two languages.

Wakio is a mission-based alarm app. To turn it off, you have to complete a custom task you set yourself such as taking a photo of the sky or scanning a barcode.

The alarm doesn’t stop until you do.

Wakio runs a total of 20 accounts, and has just crossed 12M total views.

One creator, @vidsbyelisaa, stands out for having the big breakthrough, and the best-performing video up to today.

On May 13, she hit 3.1M views with this waking up skit:

crashing out bc my alarm won’t turn off until i take a photo of the sky

She wakes up to an obnoxious sound effect telling her “yo phone linging.”

Then she records herself going to the window to take a photo of the sky just to shut the alarm off.

Since that video, they’ve been replicating the same format across accounts with light hook variations, and in German.

A second account took the exact same skit, translated the hook, and hit 420K views on TikTok.

That pushed Wakio into the Top 100 in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

It’s a simple move that most UGC campaigns ignore: when a format goes viral in English, recreate it in the next language.

Wakio did it early, and it’s already showing up in the rankings.
