Key Drivers Fueling Gaming Market Growth in 2026 and Beyond

Consoles are likely to remain the major growth factor for the gaming industry, with the impact of increased sales lasting until 2027.

There are two developments largely responsible for the increasing console revenues in the foreseeable future:

  • The upcoming release of GTA VI near the end of 2026
  • The launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 as the console expands presence in Asia & Mena (NIKO)

The initial console exclusivity of GTA VI is expected to further boost popularity of existing platforms (PS5 and Xbox), since a PC release isn't likely at least until late 2027.
