Ways You Can Use Answer Socrates and
I personally use Pro and the free version of Answer Socrates in my work. While the tools do offer some overlap in terms of understanding what people are interested in, the way the platforms present their data is very different.
Trend Research
Answer Socrates and are both helpful when conducting research around trends. I prefer using when I want to understand what is trending and where. Once I know that, I can use a tool like Answer Socrates to get a better understanding of what people are asking about the trending topic (or related terms) online.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
If you're conducting research for SEO and marketing purposes, both and Answer Socrates are helpful tools. I like using to identify the top trends in my target industry and pinpoint what channels are best to focus on when marketing. If a topic is performing well across search channels, I can then use Answer Socrates to identify the questions people are asking, generate semantic keywords to help when creating content, and more.
Tip: If you prefer to conduct all of your research in one spot, or need more SEO tools than Answer Socrates offers, try Semrush One. is available through the Semrush App Center, so it's very easy to toggle between different features, create keyword lists, cluster terms, and look up essential SEO data about your top keywords.
Product Development
Pro subscribers can get access to a Trending Products report that I personally find very helpful when I want to evaluate what consumers are interested in right now. (It's particularly useful for Amazon sellers, too, as the report contains pricing data.)
Answer Socrates doesn't include as much direct product information, but you can use it to look up a brand name and see what comparative questions people are asking — i.e. "Nike vs. Reebok running shoes" or "Kindle vs. Kobo ebooks."
If you're an e-commerce store owner or entrepreneur, then I think you'll find to be the most useful tool. If your work is mostly focused on content marketing and occasionally creating comparison articles, then Answer Socrates' data might be enough for your needs.
